ADVENTUROUS KAYAKING TRIP TO AID PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED KIDS

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, JUNE 2000 - The excitement is building toward July 29th, 2000, when Bob Faucheux intends to raise $5000 for helping physically challenged kids. And, its not just the good work that's raising the excitement -it's because Mr. Faucheux is doing it by kayaking 24 miles across the choppy waters of Lake Pontchartrain!

On July 29th, Bob Faucheux plans to paddle his small, one-man kayak on an 8-hour, nonstop adventure across Lake Pontchartrain. And why would any sensible man do such an adventurous thing? For the physically challenged kids of our community, as a matter of fact.
Bob is taking on this wild challenge to raise money for the Greater New Orleans Therapeutic Riding Center. This nonprofit charity, an agency of the United Way, uses horseback riding as physical and emotional therapy for physically challenged youngsters from throughout the New Orleans area. The charity has been functioning for several years, and has been featured in numerous TV and newspaper stories.

To raise money for this worthy cause, Mr. Faucheux is asking our caring community to send donations to the Riding Center. The kayak trip is a way to raise awareness of the fine work the charity is performing.
